Roles and Responsibility

Technical Manager

 

Essential Functions -

  • Work closely with the team in the design and development of applications software for Polycom Voice endpoints
  • Instill best practices for software development, ensure that the designs conform to the requirements and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules
  • Manage resources effectively, mentor and enhance the team’s capabilities to build a best-in-class engineering team
  • Report status of development, quality and system performance to management on frequent basis
  • Analyze customer and marketing requests for feasibility, costs and development effort
  • Work with Product Management to understand customer requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional/organizational leads to improve development processes, promote best practices, promote common code etc.

 

Qualification (Include education, technical expertise, skills and experience required) -

  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Should have 12+ years of experience in developing embedded software applications with at least 4 years in leading a software development team
  • Strong understanding of Object Oriented Analysis and Design including the Unified Modeling Language
  • Must be familiar with embedded software development environment like VxWorks/Embedded Linux etc
  • Must be familiar with Networking & Communication protocols like SIP, H.323, TCP/IP etc.
  • Must have good project and people management skills
  • Good communication skills
