Roles and Responsibility

Media Architect

 

A seasoned engineer with solid fundamental System Architecture skills, proficient in Object oriented programming, and a passion for learning and applying latest technologies in agile environment will be the ideal fit for the key role of VOIP Media Software Architect

 

Specific responsibilities include

  • Define Product Architecture and Technical Vision in collaboration with the product owners
  • Engage in design, development, deployment, testing, integration, and sustenance of Polycom VOIP endpoint products.
  • Foster Innovation culture in the team; and coach engineering teams to apply innovation mindset to complex problems.
  • Partner with Engineering Managers, to ensure products we build are elegant, practical, efficient and technologically excellent
  • Drive the robust translation of business requirements to system requirements and eventually into the products which lead to our customers' delight
  • Design, build, and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable software, an present solutions/prototypes to other engineering teams
  • Ensure development of the best performance, quality, and responsive applications, with focus on continuous improvement and learning

 

Job Requirements & Attributes

  • Masters/Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 12 to 18 years of experience in C/C Linux embedded software development (Android & Linux based platforms)
  • Expert level knowledge in OOAD, OO & Design Pattern
  • Deep understanding of End-to-end VOIP Architecture and Solution, with Protocols experience in SIP, H323, RTP, RTCP, SDP, SRTP, , streaming media/protocols, G-Streamer.
  • Expertise in Media server features like Audio conference, Video conference, IVR, Audio/Video Transcoding
  • Expertise on H264 (HD-720p/Non HD), VP8, MPEG4, H263, SVC, G711, G722, Opus, AMR-WB, AMR
  • Strong real-time systems development background using various design methodologies in multi-threaded environments
  • Strong fundamentals in networking protocols (TCP/IP), Socket programming, System and Network programming on Linux
  • Pragmatic skills in defining Scope and developing Solution approach to business problems independently
  • Experience in Agile Product Development, preferably in the role of Product Owner
