Roles and Responsibility

Job Description: 

  • Familiar with MPP, Greenplum database concepts, high availability, failover
  • Experience on Greenplum Database Backups and restoring
  • Experience on Workload management, monitoring, performance Tuning, troubleshooting database issues
  • Experience on parallel data loading, Database migration
  • Familiar with Database stats collection process
  • Familiar with different database objects and managing them
  • Experience with Database Fragmentation, Database Maintenance tasks
  • Familiar with Database table partitioning and table maintenance
  • Familiar with Database Configuration changes, environment variables and access control
  • Experience on Linux platform, shell scripting

 

 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Designed the Physical database design using the tool, ER-Studio to make sure that the design implies to all the features of SQL DW database
  • As a Database Architect, provided Best practices to improve the overall performance of the SQL DW systems. Few of them were implemented to gain performance benefit
  • Redesigned few tables which were taking longer load time
  • Recommend best practices to ensure integrity, quality and timeliness of data
  • Worked on overall performance improvement by parallelizing the data flows in each layer of data warehouse
  • Involved in Managing the Offshore team and client management activities
  • Participating in technical requirements gathering and solution architecture for clients
  • Reviewing and validating the Storage, Backup and DR aspects of the database
  • Taking responsibility and driving the team to closure of the client deliverables
  • Identification and definition of market opportunities, solution offerings and go-to-market strategy
  • Thought leadership & direction setting for the practice
  • Develop, and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models; identifying business critical gaps and discrepancies; actively propose and implement remediation tactics
  • Established and maintained a Data Model blueprint to provide reference and framework to the systems
  • Responsible for day-to-day Greenplum Administration activities like role management, concurrency control, Database monitoring
