- Responsible for managing the end-to-end of testing and acceptance of vendor network capacity delivered as Leased Wave (LW) services
- Managing Project Schedules
- Providing full analysis on Vendor's BER Test Results
- Prepare and/or interpret testing packages and documentation including:
? Network schematics, DLR, CLR documentation
? Scope of Work (SOW) and Method of Procedure (MOP)
? Test result packages
? Updating all project documentation to match physical layouts
? Interfacing with vendors to provide remediation
? Manage vendors to ensure LW deliveries meet Client expectations
- Describe elements of ISP connectivity in POP, Colo, MMR and Data Center facilities
- Effectively present to team meetings both written and orally
- Identify persistent issues and enact resolutions effectively
- Assist deployed teams in issue resolution
- Multi-task effectively and maintain project deadlines
- Interface with clients and peers to develop team methodology and best practices
Job Description:
- Project management and strong organizational competence
- Ability to evaluate BER Test Results in 10G and 100G environments
- Practical experience supporting Leased Wave Services
- Optical Patch Panels/Blocks, OSX/ODF/NGF Facilities and Structured Cabling
- Optical Connector Types e.g LC, SC and MPO
- BER Testing 10GbE LAN/100GbE connectivity
- Operation of various BER/BERT Test Equipment and used of PRBS Test Patterns
- Familiar with OSI Model, ITU RFC standards and industry references
- ITU G.709 OTN, and SONET/SDH hierarchies and DWDM transport signal flow
- Pluggable Optics/Transceivers ergo CFP, SFP , XFP and Q-SFP devices
- Use of Graphical Craft UI to perform remote monitoring of Trib/Client PM
- Able to use any generic office software
- Ability to remotely assist field operations personnel to configure BER test equipment
Required Field Testing Skills
- Ability to setup and operate a typical 10GbE/100GbE BER test set
- Proper Handling of Fiber Optic components, Connectors and Jumpers
- Use of Light Source and Power Meter and OTDR test gear and the ability to evaluate test results
- Ability to analyze G.709 OTN, SONET/SDH Alarms and PM Data
- Knowledge on use of Loop Backs, and Performance Monitoring (PM) data to isolate errors on a LW Service
- Familiar with Ciena 6500, Cisco, BTI, ALU and Infinera DWDM Equipment
- Familiar with Juniper and Cisco Routers
- Familiar with Submarine Cable Systems
Experience/Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years in a project management or project support capacity
- Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering subject or related technical experience
- Understanding vendor contractual deliverables according to SLA/MSA
- Experience in analyzing BER/PRBS reports generated by JDSU, EXFO, Anritsu Test Equipment
- Additional languages a definite asset
