Job Description Specialist:

 

Management level definitions

Education and Experience

  •                     Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  •                     May have Master’s degree in related field.
  •                     Often holds entry-level certification(s) in work field.
  •                     May hold intermediate-level certification(s) in work field.
  •                     Typically 5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  •                     Apply advanced technical knowledge to operate one or more technology area like Backup administration that are critical or high-risk. Integrates technical knowledge and business understanding to create superior solutions for the company and for customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

 

Plan

  •           Perform/interact with Accounts / Customer for a requirement and customize the Plan based on HPE standard reference /Best practices.
  •           Participate with other specific technical services of Planning.
  •           Deliver draft project timeline/effort estimates for the solution to HPE Project manager for customer approval.

Deploy

  •           Independently review, implement, and verify changes/solutions of high complexity and risk to meet customer and/or trade/IT infrastructure needs.
  •           Review the Customer BOM with Vendor and understand the delivery schedule to update project timelines
  •           Create detailed Project plan/effort estimates to deploy the Solution.
  •           Define the customer acceptance checklist and sign-off criteria
  •           Create delivery/Operation documents for handover solution to ongoing delivery and participate in RTPA process.
  •           Perform/document customer acceptance tests results.
  •           Participate in Project sign-off meeting with Customer and project manager. Collect customer feedback on the solution and overall deploy project for specific technology service

Service Level Management

 

  •           Ensure effort and duration metrics are met as per the service catalogue.
  •           Ensure project manager sign off in case of rework or defects.
  •           Update and maintain the service catalogue as HPE standards.
  •           Update and maintain project requirement document, Quality checks for build books, Project artifacts & Closure documents.

Escalation Management

  •           Identify potential issues, manage and lead escalations until resolution.
  •           Ensure no communication gaps while handling escalated situations.
  •           Mentor L1 & L2 team members in handling escalated situations.

Solution Design

  •           Applies the company solutions to meet highly complex customer and/or trade/IT infrastructure needs

Project Delivery Management

  •           Participate, propose, and/or lead customer and internal projects across technology customers and/or internal businesses/end user’s areas, including transformation.

Transformation

  •           Develop a transformation plan and go-live checklist for delivery Organization.
  •           Manage datacenter migration for fork lift of servers from customer datacenter to HPE datacenter.
  •           Maintain HPE infrastructure standards implementation checklist to transform/migrate Customer assets in HPE Manage services delivery.
  •           Review with delivery resources Compliance on Configuration management updates for customer assets

  •           May provide feedback/influence change in internal and/or vendor-provided products/service offerings

  •                     Backup Recovery (BuR) specialist knowledge on HPE Data protector or IBM TSM or VERITAS NetBackup or EMC Networker or CommVault on installation, implementation & configuration.
  •                     Deep level knowledge and work experience in handling & configuring entry, mid-range & enterprise level tape libraries, VTL or Store Once or Data Domain.
  •                     Good Presentation skills.

Technical background in one or more of the following is considered as advantage

  •                     Certification (e.g. BUR technology administration) depending on service operations.
  •                     Cross platform skills.
  •                     Domain Knowledge.
