IT Operations team to allocate storage as necessary
Reports storage utilization
and consumption including historical trending as part of regular capacity &
performance planning
Maintain storage & Backup
hardware & software, including storage subsystems, VTLs and Backup
Libraries
Plan and deploy high
availability solutions for Storage and Backup systems to protect from media,
hardware or facility failure
Manages the backup and
recovery of data on storage subsystems, tapes & VTLs using relevant
products and technologies
Maintain highest levels of
data confidentiality, integrity and availability through implementing redundant
high available components as part of storage and backup infrastructure
Maintain high level of
reliability of Storage & Backup environment by maintaining high system
availability and data consistency of systems
Performs ongoing maintenance
of all equipment for backup environment to include servers, disk libraries, and
tape storage devices
Plan, Implement, Manage and
Maintain inter site storage and backup replications for DR purpose
Design and Size Storage &
Backup Architecture spanning for one or more Data Centers
Manage and lead Root Cause
Analysis, Lesson Learned and prevention processes to provide high standard
deliverables that meet SLA (Service Level Adherence) and ensure CSAT ( Customer
Satisfaction)
Works with third-party
vendors and consultants on developing system-specific skills
Evaluates new technologies to
meet business needs or to solve business problems
Manages and leads Root Cause
Analysis, Lesson Learned and prevention processes to meet high standard of
deliverables and work according to company methodology
In some cases, professionally
leads small teams, builds team knowledge capabilities and versatility
Design and size storage
architecture spanning of one or more Data Centers
Experience and Skills Required:
3 to 6 years of experience
administering IBM DS8300/8700/ products and technologies
Proficiency in hardware,
software, operating system environments
Storage administration
Experience in High End enterprise DS8k Storage and brocade DCX switches,
Brocade Routers
Expertise in NAS/SAN storage
networks
Knowledge and understanding
of Designing and Sizing of Storage Architectures
Candidate is comfortable with
most aspects of storage administration; for example, understands concepts and
configuration of storages, storage groups, lun provisioning, troubleshooting
Operating system command
exposure (Unix and Wintel for limited administration purposes)
Ability to write scripts in
some administrative language (e.g ksh, Tk, Perl, ) is an advantage,
3 to 6 years of experience as
a Backup Administrator

enterprise skills in NetBackup 7.X
Error code troubleshooting, Client/Media/Master
server installation, Tape Drive/Robot/Library configuration
Duplication of tape media, Backup
policy configuration
Altering retention period of

as per needs, Command level experience on NetBackup UNIX
Enterprise Tape Library, Media
Tapes (LTO4/5/6/7), Monitoring and troubleshooting on Tape library
.Net Backup Encryption - KLM/TKLM

Backup Types - Understanding
of BCV backups, RMAN/application, FS and user archive backups
