Roles and Responsibility
    • Position Description

      Project Purchase Buyer

      Report to: Project Purchase Head

      Np- 15days to Immediate

       

      Location

      Chennai (frequent travel to Suppliers required)

       

      Mission

      • The Project Purchase buyer, reporting to Project Purchase Head is responsible for:
      •  Delivering project economic objectives & meeting Target Localization rate
      •  Resolve all GPSQ issues that may arise in project/ramp up phase for flawless launch

       

      Key Responsibilities

      • Support the buyers related to purchasing responsibilities for Powertrain program and work closely with cross functional teams including Program Management, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Manufacturing, and suppliers.
      • Track economic situation of the project (PRF, Project expenditure and profitability) by guaranteeing the origin, the quality and the consistency of the data,
      • Pilot the product/process economic optimization with people concerned from other regions (Europe / North America / Asia pacific)
      • Manage supply / development crisis at supplier end to recover delays caused in project/Ramp up
      • Main activities
      •   Coordination with all stakeholders to drive progress in assigned project and fulfill Purchasing deliverables for each milestone
      •   Weekly reporting of project progress with Purchasing leadership
      •   Anticipate supplier development & ramp up delays , take lead to overcome supply crisis

      Qualifications

      • 8 to 10 years of Automotive Experience in Project Management, Cost engineering, Product Design, Development , Localization, Strategic Sourcing with OEM & Tier 1 suppliers
      • Preferred: Bachelors degree in Engineering , Experienced in automotive product development processes
