        IaaS Windows Architect Engineer

        The Windows Engineering team is a critical part of Credit Suisse?s information technology department. Team is responsible for design, engineering, testing and certification of all Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019 and 2022 core operating system solutions and technologies to on-prem and public cloud environment


        The role involves:


        • Develop WinPE, Windows images and integrate associated drivers
        • Take ownership of defined server components, engineer a solution, and deliver a package for the operating system layer
        • Assess windows security vulnerabilities and provide remediation
        •  Support testing of standard server configurations and its integration with multiple OS and third-party software components
        • Create standard specifications and test cases derived from a requirements list
        • Provide required component/platform documentation and release notes.
        • Work with vendors to resolve complex platform faults and manage delivery of solution to customers


        Required skills:

        • Extensive scripting experience with PowerShell
        • Deep understanding of Windows Server technologies
        • Operating System and Software Updates deployment using System Center Microsoft Configuration Manager and Orchestrator in large enterprise environment
        • (Optional) Experience working in Agile (Scrum) Teams
        • (Optional) Experience working with Vmware vRA, vRO and Virtual center technologies
        • (Optional) Experience in CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, Odyssey

         

         

        More on Windows Platform

        • Experience in administering Windows 2000/2003/2008/2012 Servers. Windows 2016 server would be an added advantage.
        • Demonstrated knowledge and solid understanding of Microsoft Servers and Server applications
        • Windows PowerShell knowledge would be an added advantage.
        • MCSA/MCITP/ITIL/VCP 5.0 or 6.0 or similar certification.
        • Daily checks on Windows 2003/2008R2/2012/2016 servers to monitor the status and the state of the servers
        • Install, configure, and administer servers and troubleshoot issues as needed.
        • Proficient with TCP/IP network protocols.
        • Debugging/troubleshooting of OS issues.
        • Server/File/Printer Migration experience.
        • Perform Security Health Check of Windows servers and other compliance.
        • Perform/Recommend timely Patch management as per the Schedule.
        • Installing, Configuring and Hardening of Windows 2003/2008/2012/2016 Servers.
        • RAID Configurations and Disk management utilities tools.
        • Sound knowledge on vmware administration.
        • Has hands on experience on Installing and configuring VCenter server 5.0/5.1/5.5/6.0
        • Experience on Setting up, Install and configure ESXi Hosts.
        • Experience on setting up and configure IBM/HP/Dell Rack & blade servers
        • Automated Installation ESX and vcenter using vm update manager
        • Knowledge and experience on P2V migrations
        • Hands on experience on presenting Fiber/SAS/iSCSI/RDMs to esxi hosts.
        • Well versed in cluster management/DRS rules/Base Image management.
        • Day to Day system administration of VMware and windows machines
        • Working experience with vSphere systems administration and support including VMotion, HA, DRS, VDS, Affinity rules, VCenter, storage migrations, and P2V migrations.
        • Experience with vSphere problem determination, capacity planning and root cause analysis.
        • Experience on VMware & Hyper-V host management.
        • Very good knowledge in Windows failover clustering.
        • Must be aware of ITIL process,incident, change, problem Management
