Responsibilities:
· Design, develop, test, and maintain
mainframe applications using COBOL programming language.
· Write and maintain JCL (Job Control
Language) for batch processing and job scheduling on z/OS.
· Develop and maintain IMS DB & DC
applications, including database design, schema modifications, and transaction
processing.
· Create and optimize SQL queries for
DB2 databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
· Collaborate with business analysts
and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical
specifications.
· Perform debugging, troubleshooting,
and performance tuning of mainframe applications.
· Develop and maintain REXX scripts
for automation and system tasks (if applicable).
· Participate in code reviews, version
control, and documentation of mainframe applications.
· Provide technical guidance and
mentoring to junior developers on mainframe technologies.
· Stay updated with emerging trends
and best practices in mainframe development and architecture.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,
Information Technology, or a related field.
· 6-9 years of hands-on experience in
mainframe development with proficiency in COBOL, JCL, IMS DB & DC, and DB2.
· Strong understanding of the z/OS
operating system and mainframe architecture.
· Experience with batch processing,
job scheduling, and system utilities on IBM Mainframes.
· Knowledge of REXX scripting language
is a plus.
· Familiarity with mainframe debugging
tools and performance optimization techniques.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and
attention to detail.
· Effective communication and
collaboration skills within a team environment.
· Ability to work independently and
manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
· Relevant certifications in IBM
Mainframes or related technologies are desirable.
