PMS Engineer vs PMS Manager: depending on the scope and level of
experience
Description:
Purpose of the job:
·
He / she guarantees the timely implementation of the Program Management System (PMS) standards, for all programs within the
CBU/Division/Region, with a proactive approach to meet the KPI objectives.
·
He / she contributes directly to the improvement of
the PMS system and the organization of the PMS milestones.
Responsibilities:
(S)he has to:
·
Ensure PMS implementation.
·
Ensure that PMS milestones together with the Program
Manager and the functions, when applicable, are prepared and correctly performed in agreement with the Program Director, escalade to
the CBU PM PMS issues.
·
Support the Program Managers & Program Director
for the Program Review Committee preparation & attend to the Gate Review
meetings (also QVRs, TVRs, MD Reviews).
·
Support the Program Manager for internal or external
program audits.
·
Ensure that next phase activities plan is properly
performed before each new phase (i.e. planning workshop).
·
Make sure that the Production Trials are planned with
anticipation with launch book or launch readiness.
·
Ensure the appropriate usage of the Program management
IT system Helios, E-step, support end-users and participate to the
improvement of the tools.
·
Ability to coach and mentor young team members and
share best practices across the program.
·
Support to ongoing RFQs and ensure timely deliveries.
·
Ensure that PMS milestones are adhered to from
Quality, Cost and Delivery point of view.
·
Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving
environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
·
Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all
phases of the project.
·
Provide status reporting regarding project milestones,
deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership.
·
Good commercial knowledge in order to negotiate with
internal and external stakeholders which drives for benefit of organization.
·
Ensure that program experience is capitalized in
knowledge management to improve future programs performance. Share best
practices to all programs in his/her scope.
·
Train: Conduct PMS sessions for self-development.
Ensure reporting:
·
Ensure that the reporting of all the
CBU/Division/Region programs is done accurately in a timely manner.
·
Update the list of Programs and the monthly KPI’s, and
escalate in case of deviation versus targets.
·
Provide analysis (i.e., Red status programs, Gate
Review failures).
·
Ensure that the alerts (reported in the Alert
Management System) are solved in a timely manner.
Propose improvements:
·
Propose revisions for PMS improvements, training
materials, PMS IT system.
·
Collect program Lessons Learned and propose best
practices to the PMS Director, organization.
Global Programs
situation:
·
For Global Programs, the PMS Manager/ of the lead
Division assures coordination and synergies with the other divisions (Planning,
PMS milestones, mandatory deliverable evidences and lessons learned).
Desired Competencies/Experience:
·
Educational Qualification: Master's degree in
engineering
·
Experience in Business development & Customer
interface
·
Experience in Engineering or Quality or Purchasing in
Automotive sector (car manufacturer/Tier)
·
Experience in project management area
·
Seniority: 3-5 years in programs in Automotive
industry
Nice to have:
·
International experience.
·
Demonstrate manufacturing experience through
operational position within plant.
·
Technical skills: Optional - Knowledge of
quality tools (FMEA, design of experiment, QRCI/problem solving skills).
For PMS Engineer:
