Roles and Responsibility

  •  

    MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    • Responsible for ensuring completion of daily obligations in accordance with Head Office Rules, Regulations and Compliance policy.
    • Provide support and guidance to less experienced members of the team.
    • Assist verification of team members work to ensure timely completion of department obligations.
    • Use specialised knowledge to solve routine issues and answer queries.
    • Provide general support to facilitate the implementation of projects as and when necessary.
    • Queue monitoring and manual SWIFT messages (receive and dispatch).
    • Responsible for the accurate verification of team members? work.
    • Utilise expert knowledge of Investigations business to provide first line escalation to less experienced team members for issue resolution.
    • Solve routine issues/queries, and escalate where necessary to London, with coherent supporting documentation for decision making.
    • Contribute to the team monthly meeting.
    • Manage cases resulting from clients, internal or external parties.
    • Conduct UAT and testing when called upon, ensuring scripts encompass all eventualities and are relevant.
    • Escalate in a timely manner.
    • Attend meetings when required, and provide feedback of discussions.
    • Build relationships throughout Client  to establish a peer network, gather relevant information and help to ensure effective inter-departmental collaboration.
    • Work to resolve internal and externally driven queries, with attention to costs and client satisfaction.
    • Manage and resolve queries relating to breaks on the banks reconciliations tool (IntelliMatch) for EMEA Offices.
    • Identify and escalate instances of fraud, suspicious activities and sanctioned related queries/funds.
    • Resolve breaks and cases within the time frame dictated within the procedures and by relevant entities.


    • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

      Due to EMEA coverage, requirements for working are:

      WORK EXPERIENCE

      Essential:

    • To ensure completion of expected processing by Investigations, with accuracy, compliance to procedures and regulations, and within expected time frames.
    • Completing reviews, and establishing, maintain and resolve investigations case for queries received from breaks on EMEA nostro accounts on IntelliMatch.
    • Creating, maintaining and resolving investigations cases for queries received from clients, external, internal parties, via arious mediums.
    • Reviewing reports created at periods as detailed in procedures before sending.
    • Use banks tool ? OMS ? to manage reviews of cases, ensuring there are chased at correct periods.
    • Create for approval any internal processing created in relation to investigation cases.
    • Create for approval any internal processing created in relation to charges received.
    • Ensure correct calculation of claims and charges in relation to investigation cases.
    • Action correct processing of incoming swift messages received addressed to the Investigations department.
    • Approve and release outgoing swift messages in relation to Investigations cases, ensuring all details are correct and accurate.
    • Complete the daily reviews of previous days incoming and outgoing swift messages report and escalate and issues identified.
    • Ensure the correct creation of the rate files for processing into OVS next working day.
    • Observe and adhere to local regulator requirements, including but not limited to CASS.
    • Ensure department procedures are being adhered to, in relation to all cases raised.
    • Ensure correct action of incoming receipt of emails into the group inbox and resolution of these requests.

     

          • SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

            Functional / Technical Competencies:

            Essential

            • Working knowledge of Microsoft products to Intermediate level (Word, Excel etc).
            • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
            • Strong decision making skills, with excellent communication (written and verbal skills).
            • Recognise the need for change and the ability to generate new ideas.
            • Practical experience of SWIFT, including message types MT103, MT202, MT199, MT299, MT999, MT300.
            • Working knowledge of payment processing, FX/MM settlements & standard settlement instructions.

            • PERFORMANCE AND DUTIES
            • The role holder will be assessed in accordance with their employing entity?s performance framework and process with relevant input obtained from the dual hatting entity as relevant.

             

            As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and emended in consultation with the role holder. The role holder will carry out other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role as requested by their line manager or Department Head.

             

            MANAGING CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

            • The role holder will have responsibilities for both Client Bank and Client Securities EMEA plc.
            • The role holder will be required to perform their duties and responsibilities on an entity neutral basis, without favour.
            • The role holder is required to follow regulatory requirements applicable to ensure each business is appropriately supported and to maintain the legal entity integrity of each of Client Bank and MUS.
            • Working terms are dictated by functional mandates, the terms of the Dual-Hat Arrangement Agreement in place between Client Bank and Client Securities EMEA plc and any other relevant agreements entered into between Client  Bank and Client Securities EMEA plc.
            • The role holder will have responsibility for identifying and resolving where there may be a difference or conflict in needs between Client  Bank and Client Securities EMEA plc, escalating to their manager where required.

             

             

      Significant back office banking experience (at least 6 years).

      • Practical experience within an Investigations department.
      • Practical experience using Swift to receive and send communications or transactions.
      • Understanding of back office settlements for products: Treasury, Remittances and Loans.
      • Experience of working in a fast moving environment under time pressure whilst retaining strong attention to detail.
      • Experience in calculation of interest and charges for claims resulting from Investigations cases.
