Application Engineer Driveline
Exp - 8 to 10years
Np- 15days to Immediate
Responsibilities
1) Candidate will be responsible for Design and Development of Driveline components : Half shafts/ Drive shafts, Propeller shaft, PTU,RDM, Axles, transfer case
2) To lead component development engineers to effectively implement design changes and development of component / Sub-assemblies / Aggregate.
3) To participate and lead all technical topics in cross functional team meetings..
4) To lead the global localization/product design and development activities for subsystem from RFQ phase till the start of regular production.
5) To lead the coordination of different task forces in crisis situation.
6) To execute project as per project schedule and allocated budget. Responsible for Technical correctness & Timely implementation.
7) To update top management on regular basis on the process of the project and implement directions from the top management.
8) To communicate the design risks, related changes and impacts to all cross functional teams like purchasing, quality, project, manufacturing etc.
9) To lead the supplier technical reviews along with different cross-functional teams.
10) Manage CQI and GIMS cross functional task force teams, create priorities, action plans and track progress, align
and update initiatives list
11) First responder to Component Quality Analysis Team New Emerging Issue alerts.
? Interacting with DSE, MFG and DRE to develop the next steps plan, document the plan to the team
? Coordinate any next steps and track progress working side by side with DSE/DRE setting up plans or tests
needed
? Updating status and results into GIMS, our Quality Initiatives documents and QEC teardown results
database.
12) Manage prototype hardware procurements and ED&D reqs
13) Manage BRT (Build Readiness Team) for prototype orders
14) Lead for shipping & receiving parts/transmissions/driveline components for builds to/from suppliers
15) Drive designers & DREs on moving the changes through the system to meet the implementation timing milestones and participate in design reviews with the COEs (weekly meetings)
16) Ownership of mass/cost optimization (GCO/TCR)
17) Lead resolution of commercial issues that are impeding release and PPAP timing (CE & Sr. Manager for PRC)
18) The following are specific to new programs within the first 18 months of program approval
? Maintain the program ?Plan for every part?
? Follow up with purchasing on prototype part timing
? Follow up with purchasing & plant on make vs. buy strategy
? Schedule & attend ?Design reviews? ahead of ordering proto parts
19) Author minutes with action items/ follow up for each design review
20) Follow up on action item closure
21)Work on special projects as needed
22) Manages the development of the Applications Matrix including all interface requirements for given programs including all variants and various vehicle platforms
23) Coordinates packaging studies with each vehicle application to ensure all clearance requirements are met. Leads advanced vehicle adaptation designs studies and freezes
24) Updates and coordinates approvals of International Product Spec releases
25) Updates and coordinates approvals of owners manuals
26) Updates and coordinates approvals of CP, Compliance Report Standards
27) Negotiates requirements with vehicle platforms based on product limitations and capabilities
28) Owns the Transmission Technical Specifications (TTS) and communicates application specific requirements to the team (i.e. max torque, NVH, FE, tire size, FDR selection, mass, etc)
29) Defines and tracks adherence to robust vehicle level and system level/sub-system functional objectives
30) Coordinates external design changes that require platform approval. Perform TOS as required.
31) Develops, manages & communicates external issues and change management.
32) Responsible for the review and approval of the Application Checklist for each CN
33) Coordination of application specific designs (torque converter, dampers, vents, LV & HV wire connections, bracket attachments, trans oil cooling, PIM and e-motor integration, etc) including controls & calibration strategies
34) Represents chief organization on vehicle assembly plant requirements & events (i.e. supports pilot builds, EOL test,VIN marking, build issues, etc.). Development Manager leads vehicle assembly issues. AE supports.
35) Leads Build Readiness tasks (instrumentation plan, dyno support)
36) Coordinates COE assessments of bulletins and AT engineering response to bulletin" "1)Bachelor / Master Degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering Discipline.
2) 8 -10 years of experience in Half shafts/ Drive shafts, Propeller shaft, PTU,RDM, Axles, transfer case.
3) Should have experience of leading couple of Design & Development projects.
4) Should have experience in validation of driveline components : Half shafts/ Drive shafts, Propeller shaft, PTU,RDM, Axles, transfer case.
5) Should have sound knowledge on design of components
6) Should have sound knowledge on Detailing, Tolerance and stack up analysis.
7) Should have good knowledge on materials and heat treatment process.
8) Should have good knowledge of APQP processes.
9) Knowledge of structural simulations (CAE) would be preferable.
10) Should have very good soft skills.
11) Should be able to lead team of engineers and well versed with interaction with top management.
